Review: The Body Shop via Talented Talkers

I was recently contacted by Talented Talkers - a blogger engagement community, who wanted me to work with a new beauty client of theirs. After some small talk I received my lovely package from The Body Shop.
I was sent three summer eyeshadows and a lovely cocoa oil.
I love the Cocoa Butter Beautifying Oil. It can be used for the body, face and hair for just about every reason! I hate the feeling of oil on my skin, so I only use it on my hair and honestly a little goes a long way. After I shower I squeeze a few drops of this onto my hands and run it through the 'mane' (not the crown) of my hair. After that I brush through my hair, and using a blowdryer does improve the outcome. It makes my hair feel softer, fluffier and a lot more lustrous after only one use. I also really love the scent, at first I couldn't smell anything in the bottle but as soon as it touched my hair I fell in love with the seductive cocoa aroma. When i'm on holiday I'll put up with the oily (which isn't too bad on this product) feeling on my body whilst I sunbathe so I can smell delicious whilst improving my tan. I read through the reviews on this product and for £9 for 100ml, it is definitely worth it. I do wish it had a spray pump to reduce the likeliness of getting the bottle greasy.

I received three eyeshadows in the colours:
001 - Sugar Gaze
510 - Something Blue
501 - Head In The Sky
I love 'Sugar Gaze'. It's a pearlescent ivory with silver glitter thrown through it. I think it'd be a fab inner corner colour. 'Something Blue' is another pearlescent colour, but it's more of a jade/teal than a blue. I love using this as a pop of colour just under my lower lash-line. It has some silver reflects and if it's meant to be blue - a lot of green undertones. It reminds me of a mermaid's tail. Both these colours have great colour pay-off. 'Head In The Sky' is my trickiest to wear. It's a matte sky blue with some lilac undertones. It comes out very chalky and you really have to pack it on. The only time I would use this would be for costume makeup. It's a pretty colour but can look very pasty on the eyes.

I really want to thank The Body Shop and Talented Talkers for sending me these products and getting in contact with me. Check out their twitter and facebook.

Small Primark Haul

I'm currently sitting on the beach in Israel, with my surfboard lying next to me in a bikini - well I hope. I should be hah! I'm scheduling posts for whilst i'm away.
Before going away, I went out 'holiday shopping' and popped into Primark to pick up a few things.
Purple sandals - £3.50
Braided sandals - £2.50
Daisy hair clip - £1.00
Athletic/Slouchy shorts - £3

I love the purple sandals, they're really cute and make every outfit just a bit more summery - and they are really comfortable. They also came in mint green, pink and silver. The shorts are quite high waisted, and or rather long, but super comfortable. I've worn the daisy clip loads since I got it, it's super cute in your hair. I wore it to Wireless Festival, the post on Wireless should already be up, and I loved it. It's also quite good quality.

Any recent loves?

Wireless Festival 2013

This is going to be a rather picture-heavy post of my day at Wireless 2013. I was invited by a friend to go on the last day of the festival, held in the Olympic Park - Stratford, on the 14th to see the headliners Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake.

It was incredible, we saw so many people. A DJ set by someone I didn't get the name of, Rizzle Kicks, A$AP Rocky, Katy B, Will.i.am and then the headliners, where Rihanna surprised us all!
These are just a few of the photos I took from Wireless. The top left is some of my friends and I at Katy B, Jayz and JT performing, Will.I.Am. The bottom two are of some of my friends and i posing whilst waiting for A$AP Rocky to come on.
Here are some of my Vines from the event:
The amount of crop tops and high waisted shorts I saw nearly reached the millions, well around 59,000/60,000.
I wore:
Dress - Topshop Petite
Shoes - Cream Converse
Sunglasses - Camden
Daisy Hair Clip - Primark
Spike Bracelt - Topshop
I kept my makeup to a minimum, I used a tinted moisturiser by ELF Cosmetics (haul coming soon), Benefit Boing concealer, Naked 2 Palette and Sleek Au Natural Palette, Topshop highlighter in Crescent Moon with a Topshop glow pot base, ELF HD powder, Sleek blush in Rose Gold.
I went to Wireless last year too, to see Rihanna headlining. It was crazy for her to just come out on stage to sing 'Run This Town'. Did any of you girls go to Wireless this year?

My Summer Shoe: Havaianas

I'm away on the 20th, off to Israel I go - so i'm spending the day writing and scheduling blog posts, responding to blog-related emails and interviews and taking a few photos. I'm away till the 28th, so I might not be as active as usual: twitter, email, facebook etc; but as soon as i'm back my summer schedule will be back on track.
I've had a favourite pair of summer shoes for (estimated) three years now, my trusty Havaianas. Do not get me wrong, I wear other shoes too, but these I find go with everything and are perfect for holidays. I first designed and chose this combination four years ago and rarely wore them unless when I was away, but they broke in my suitcase coming back on one holiday. So a few months later, when I next needed them, I repurchased and fell in love. I usually have a studded 'P' on the edge of the left shoe, but on my most recent pair they ran out of my letter and i'm not the type of girl to have an animal, star or flag stuck to my shoe. I prefer them with the letter, as I always identify them easily, as can anyone else but none the less, I still love them.
I bought them from Selfridges London (as i've always done), where you can customise your own design. I thought the brown base would be a lot softer on my fair skin and go with a lot more summer clothes. I found it hard to chose the strap, debating between the white, gold, shimmery lilac and a few others but this pearlescent pink strap stuck out to me, and i've never regretted it.

They are super high quality and you will never regret them. There is so many to chose from, whether you customise them yourself and or chose a pre-made pair. My favourite part about them is how quick they are to make, chose your colours and get the size write and tadah - your perfect pair of flip-flops. They're really comfortable and can dress down any outfit. I also like how they are (nearly) invincible, i've only broken two of my pairs. One broke by being squashed in a suitcase at a weird angle and the strep broke, the other I had worn down so much that my toes were nearly on ground level. I bought these for, relatively cheap, £30. Other places do flip-flops for £1, for example Primark. For cheap, one-use, only shoes obviously go to a cheaper shop, but I live in flip-flops during the summer, and so I invest.

What's your favourite combination? Where do you get yours from? Leave a comment below,

Topshop Lipstick Collection

I've been obsessed with Topshop makeup since I first tried it and my favourite cosmetic by them, besides their highlighters, are their lipsticks. I've gathered an average size collection of them and I thought I'd share it. If you want a look, you can find them here.

From l-r: Whimsical, Tease, All About Me, Brighton Rock, Rio Rio, Hazard
I have a variety shades, from a nude peach to a dark red and I use them all. Whimsical is a light peach, that looks amazing with a tan! Tease is a bubblegum pink that reminds me a bit of a mixture MAC's St. Germain mixed with a bit of MAC's Nicki Minaj's first lipstick. All About Me is a good dupe for MAC's Impassioned, it's a bright magenta with a few blue undertones. Brighton Rock is a muted bright pink, it's hard to describe - it's a favourite of mine. Rio Rio must be their most loved, it's not my favourite red by Topshop but it is really nice. It's a bright phone-box red with some orange reflects. Hazard is my favourite lipstick by Topshop. It's an opaque dark berry red and it's really glossy, looks great on pale/fair skins.

Topshop lipsticks are around £8 each and I really recommended them. Do you have any favourites and recommendations? I really want Boom Boom, Screen Siren and The Damned.

OOTD: White and Mint

I'm back with another OOTD. I love this outfit, I think it's super cute and summery.
Skirt: H&M
Cardigan: Topshop
Shoes: Cream Converse
Necklace: Tiffany & Co
Please mind the unclassy bathroom selfies, I got bored during physics. I really love this skirt from H&M, it was really cheap at £12.99 and has a really cool texture. It's also quite thick so you don't have the awkward underwear showing through. I really like how long it is because I love wearing skirts high on my waist so I can do this without pulling my skirt up too short. I got my shirt a long time ago, so I don't remember the price of it. Also it's gotten a tad too small so it's a bit cropped, so it's perfect to tuck into a skirt. I wore this cardigan because its thin and it doesn't clash with the white top.

What do you think of mint statement pieces - Summer 2013 must haves?

Favourite Summer Nails

I'm currently at school but we're watching a movie in Classical Civilisation so I thought I'd schedule a post. Summer is quickly approaching and I've chosen 10 of my favourite nail colours; from pink to blue from shimmer to matte, to feature in this post.
               From l-r (pinky-thumb)
               on my left (pinks) hand:
           BarryM Gelly: Pomegranate
           BarryM Gelly: Papaya
           BarryM Gelly: Dragonfruit
           BarryM Gelly: Grapefruit
           Topshop Varnish: Flamingo Coral

                From r-l (pink-thumb)
on my right hand (rainbow) hand:
            Essie: Turquoise & Caicos
       Topshop Varnish: name rubbed off
(With L.A Colours in Wired underneath)
Rimmel Metal Rush: name rubbed off
(With BarryM in Berry Ice Cream under)
            BarryM Gelly: Greenberry
            Essie: Poppy (I think)1
On my right hand (non pinks) more than five colours are featured, this is because  on the Rimmel and Topshop shades they are more like pearlescent overcoats but can be worn on their own but just be less  opaque.
Here's a close up. I would walk you through step by step about the colours but wouldn't that be too dragging? I'll talk you through my favourites. On my left hand I love Papaya (second to the left). It's my mother's favourite and at school everyone complimented it and with a tan it would look amazing. I also love the colour just to the right of Papaya. It's an opaque vibrant bubblegum pink. Most Barbie pinks look to harsh, streaky or light on my hands but this looks so cute and girly. The topshop colour, on the right, is my least favourite. I put two comparison nails on each hand, I definitely prefer Papaya as my 'summer coral'. The Topshop one is darker, more pink and less vibrant.

On my right hand it's a lot brighter. The red is my go-to red, it leans more in the orange side than true blood red. My two comparison nails are obviously the two mint ones. On my pointer I have Greenberry, which most people seem to prefer. It's less mint and more greeny bless blue mint. It's also a lot brighter. Turquoise and Caicos is a bit sheerer and darker but a lot more mint/Tiffany blue.
The two middle colours (the shimmers) have a base colour to make it more opaque. My middle finger has a lilac base and an overcoat with a lilac shimmer with green and gold reflects. On my ring finger the colour is really unique. It's a dark blue with silver glitter and loads of purple reflects.

I hope you enjoyed reading this, and I'd love to know your favourite summer colours!
