Hey Raindrops,
Today i'm back with another post, i know its been nearly two weeks..The past week and a bit has been seriously stressful for me, i've gone back to school and been given LOADS of homework, well i procrastinate and stuff but yeah loads. And all my teachers thought they would be nice and know that some people don't do well in exams just because they are not good at exams so they are being like well the End Of Year Final/Exam is only going to b 50% of the grade and give us projects for the other half, and the projects are now exams in june but i have at least 3 projects INCLUDING MUSIC. and you all know i SUCK at music, but me and my friend Bex we're doing something slightly different and the task is just to do something to hand in and it has to be you who made it so it can be singing, playing music, lyrics, a tune, or what i'm doing is a REMIX. It's called 911, and probably i will put the completed version here...But yeah thats hard work, after i write this post (Currently midnight + i'm up at 7) im gonna spend like an hour working on it...And i have a RS project on War :p and just loads of homework but one thing that does relax me is:
BOOKS.
mmm love me some books and i recently did an amazon order and bought a few books so i thought i would share them on here:
Top-Bottom:
Sugar & Spice - Lauren Conrad
Cut - Patricia McCormick
Tempted - P.C. and Kristin Cast
Such A Pretty Girl - Laura Weiss
Burned - P.C. and Kristin Cast
Matched - Ally Condie
Callie cuts herself. Never too deep, never enough to die. But enough to feel the pain. Enough to feel the scream inside. Now she's at Sea Pines, a "residential treatment facility" filled with girls struggling with problems of their own. Callie doesn't want to have anything to do with them. She doesn't want to have anything to do with anyone. She won''t even speak. But Callie can only stay silent for so long..
I just read this, and have already given it to a friend..It's short about 120 pages but amazing...Personally i think it should be read in schools as a compulsory book but. i guess its a bit too dark, well only one paragraph is (strangely i highlighted it and remember it almost off by heart) where they described the blood as she cut herself for the first time, for me i found it more artistic than demented but that's personal view..Serious suggestion though! People should read it! It makes people more aware..And a disclaimer for the book it's not about self-harming, it's not about the thought process of it but it's more about the thought process of wanting help...It's based in a rehabilitation centre, with many messed up people (no offence) but girls with eating disorders, drug users, cutters etc....And it really moved me.....Disclaimer to me: I am not demented, i do not cut myself and never have tbh :D ...
Sugar and Spice . . . Not everyone's nice.
Fresh from being betrayed by one of her closest friends, new reality-television celebrity Jane Roberts has learned a few lessons. Most important: know who to trust. And in Hollywood, that list is short.
Although the press is intent on creating a tabloid war between her and ex-friend/current-costar Madison Parker, Jane just wants to take control of her life. She’s started by swearing off guys and the drama that comes with them. But when her high school sweetheart Caleb and her unrequited L.A. crush Braden show up, both acting sweeter than ever, Jane has a hard time remembering her no-boys rule. . .
.
Her best friend, Scarlett, has only one guy on her mind: her new boyfriend, Liam. The girl who once thought love was a four-letter word is now head over heels. The problem is, being on a hit reality show means hanging out with other guys on-camera, and Liam isn’t too happy with pretending to play a bit part in her love life.
Just when everything feels out of control, Jane makes a shocking discovery—one that changes everyone’s definition of “reality” forever.
I'm reading this currently, and i think you all know i'm a big fan of these books.....This is the last one in the L.A Candy series, then it goes onto the Fame Game series (Featuring Madison from the books)..Either way i'm obsessed..I love how you see the storyline between Trevor (the tv director/producery person) and Madison's secret boss/worker relationship form, making Madison look hard done to..I love how we see more from Trevor and Dana's view, these are the producers of a tv show called L.A Candy, who stars Madison, Jane, Scarlet and Gaby...
I also like how there is more of a storyline with Hannah, a coworker of Jane and more for Liam, Scarlet's Boyfriend, and some new characters come in like Naveen and Caleb...These series are perfect beach reads! Bring all 3 for a beach weekend and i'm pretty sure you're set to go!
They promised Meredith nine years of safety, but only gave her three.
Her father was supposed to be locked up until Meredith turned eighteen. She thought she had time to grow up, get out, and start a new life. But Meredith is only fifteen, and today her father is coming home from prison.
Today her time has run out.
I've not started this yet but it looks really good, i know it is about Meredith who as a child was sexually abused by her father who abused multiple children...
So - you'd think after banishing an immortal being and a fallen High Priestess, saving Stark's life, biting Heath, getting a headache from Erik, and almost dying, Zoey Redbird would catch a break. Sadly, a break is not in the House of Night school forecast for the High Priestess in training and her gang. Juggling three guys is anything but a stress reliever, especially when one of them is a sexy Warrior who is so into protecting Zoey that he can sense her emotions. Speaking of stress, the dark force lurking in the tunnels under the Tulsa Depot is spreading, and Zoey is beginning to believe Stevie Rae could be responsible for a lot more than a group of misfit red fledglings. Aphrodite's visions warn Zoey to stay away from Kalona and his dark allure, but they also show that it is Zoey who has the power to stop the evil immortal. Soon it becomes obvious that Zoey has no choice: if she doesn't go to Kalona he will exact a fiery vengeance on those closest to her. Will Zoey have the courage to chance losing her life, her heart, and her soul?
Things have turned black at the House of Night. Zoey Redbird’s soul has shattered. With everything she’s ever stood for falling apart, and a broken heart making her want to stay in the Otherworld forever, Zoey’s fading fast. It’s seeming more and more doubtful that she will be able pull herself back together in time to rejoin her friends and set the world to rights. As the only living person who can reach her, Stark must find a way to get to her. But how? He will have to die to do so, the Vampyre High Council stipulates. And then Zoey will give up for sure. There are only 7 days left… Enter BFF Stevie Rae. She wants to help Z but she has massive problems of her own. The rogue Red Fledglings are acting up, and this time not even Stevie Rae can protect them from the consequences. Her kinda boyfriend, Dallas, is sweet but too nosy for his own good. The truth is, Stevie Rae’s hiding a secret that might be the key to getting Zoey home but also threatens to explode her whole world. In the middle of the whole mess is Aphrodite: ex-Fledgling, trust-fund baby, total hag from Hell (and proud of it). She’s always been blessed (if you could call it that) with visions that can reveal the future, but now it seems Nyx has decided to speak through her with the goddess’s own voice, whether she wants it or not. Aphrodite’s loyalty can swing a lot of different ways, but right now Zoey’s fate hangs in the balance.
I bought two more books for P.C & Kristen Casts' House Of The Night Series, books 6 & 7 i think..I love this series, i love the whole vampire romance and the whole society and life that is lived by a fledgling...I love this series and hope to finish it!
Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate... until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.
The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.
This book interested me quite a lot because it reminded me a bit of Scott Westerfields' books: Uglies, Pretties, Specials with the computerised world and i loved those books... + the dress on the covers really pretty and like the simplicity of it......And i love the idea of forbidden romance, it reminds me of Romeo and Juliet in away :D
anyways, that was my recent book haul....If you want any specific glitteratures on any of these comment below and i will! Bought any books recently? Got any recommendations? - i want to read Divergent, that seems good!
